A girls club volleyball team is forming in Franklin, attracting aspiring players from Western North Carolina.
Club Director Noelle Moore is establishing a travel team called, “Bridge Volleyball-Western North Carolina,” that is an extension of “Bridge Volleyball Chula Vista, California.”
Moore’s vision is for “all girls to have an opportunity to play volleyball, while having fun in a competitive environment.” With no travel teams in the immediate area, establishing this club should help fill that void.
“While spending time in Franklin growing up, I have seen that Franklin is a great community that supports sports,” Moore said.
The club will be for girls ages 12-18 years old. An orientation meeting will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24 at the Macon County Community Building.
Bridge Volleyball is a non-profit volleyball club that aims to help players develop their volleyball skills, ultimately with the intent on receiving exposure to collegiate volleyball programs.
Bridge Volleyball-Western North Carolina falls under the branch of The Bridge to the Future Foundation.
Moore received a full athletic scholarship, playing for Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla. She was a four-year starter at middle blocker, and still owns the school record for career kills.
Her coaching experience includes coaching for the Orlando Volleyball Academy as well as Bridge Volleyball Chula Vista, California.
